Present in 118 countries, the Renault Group is structured into to 5 main regions: Europe, Euromed, Russia, Asia-Africa, and the Americas. Dacia is part of the Euromed Region, and joined by Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldavia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, and North Africa (Maghreb). In February 2009, Jacques Chauvet was appointed President of the Euromed Region.
The Renault Group currently counts 39 industrial sites and more than 129,000 collaborators1.
All of Renault’s industrial sites were delivered the ISO 14001 environment certification. The Group, under its three brands – Renault, Samsung and Dacia – conceives, develops and sells both personal and commercial vehicles.
With the Japanese carmaker Nissan, Renault created the Renault-Nissan Alliance in 1999, as a common development platform for the Alliance’s technology, product strategy and sales. In 2008, Renault signed a strategic partnership with the Russian carmaker AvtoVaz, whereby Renault purchased 25% of its capital.
In 2008, the Renault Group sold 2,382,230 units and reported a turnover of 37,791 million euros. Renault-Nissan ranks fifth among carmakers worldwide, with 5,952 million personal and commercial vehicles manufactured in 2008. The Group sold 37% of its 2008 production outside Europe.
Dacia is the second brand of the Renault Group, and the Group’s development centre for Central and Eastern Europe. Its mission is to make modern, robust and economical products addressed to the new markets, and adapted to the expectations, the needs and the resources of these markets.
Dacia fully benefits from this membership, drawing on Renault Group’s expertise both at industrial and commercial level. Renault’s commercial network provides the distribution for Dacia’s cars and spare parts in most countries.
