DACIA IS A SOCIAL PARTNER
Dacia supplies Mioveni with drinking water
The industrial platform in Mioveni provides drinking water both on its area and for the residents of Mioveni, for the Colibasi School, for the Colibasi Prison, for Transporturi Dacia, for Maintenance Construction Industrielle (MCI), for the ILN-RIR centre: 30,000 people overall. Since 2004, Dacia has started an ample investment programme meant to upgrade the drinking water facilities, to reduce technological consumption, to limit water losses and to provide drinking water according to available European Union directives. At the same time, Dacia has been constantly preoccupied with environment protection. In 2005, the carmaker received the ISO 14001 environment certification
Dacia initiated and ran a programme called “Dacia, a European Company”, with several universities in the country (Pitesti, Bucharest, Brasov, Cluj, Iasi, Craiova), with the purpose to offer students, via seminaries held by Dacia’s specialists, a series of internships either at the plant in Mioveni or with Renault in France. In addition, for the last past years, Dacia has awarded students from Pitesti with excellent results in national school competitions. It also offered certain universities (Pitesti, Brasov, Cluj) technical instruments for their laboratories, it donated computers and furniture to schools and kindergartens and a great number of books to the Mioveni library. It also donated computers to Pitesti “Ion Barbu” high-school, to the International Police Association – the Arges subsidiary and to the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police.
Whenever the occasion presented, Dacia offered material and financial support to groups of children (from Arges, Brasov or Bucharest) who need special care for their disabilities. In this respect, Dacia collaborated with the Romania Sera Association, with the regional subsidiaries of the General Division of Social Care and Child Protection and with local authorities. These partnerships focused on creating better living conditions for children with special needs. Dacia has thus contributed to building new centres for handicapped children in Tarlungeni (Brasov) and Valea Mare (Arges). In addition, Dacia donated four vehicles to the Ambulance Centre of the Arges County Hospital, as the centre’s car fleet was insufficient and obsolete.

Dacia is the traditional partner of “Simfonia lalelelor”
In April 2009, for the sixth consecutive year, Dacia will be Pitesti City Hall’s and Local Council’s main partner of the international exhibition famous as “Simfonia Lalelelor”. This annual partnership, as well as the carmaker’s contribution to other public events, such as “The Mioveni Days” confirms Dacia’s will to be a part of the community life, both morally and financially: information and advertising leaflets, awards, music concerts, Logan cars for the transport of official delegations.
Dacia supports Romanian art and awards performance
Dacia believes in Romanian cultural and artistic values. At Christmas time, the company officials are happy to welcome and treat groups of carol singers from kindergartens and schools in Pitesti and Mioveni. The company offered its material support on a series of cultural events: the Romanian Folk Song and Dance Festival, the Dakino and Gopo Films Festivals, the Mozart Music Festival, the “Gaudeamus” Book Fair and some competitions for children. Dacia has always rewarded excellence: in 2007, Dacia offered a Logan MCV to Romanian director Cristian Mungiu for having won the Palme d’Or award with “4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days”; likewise, the Romanian carmaker offered a Logan vehicle to the winner of the Romanian Television Professionals Association, Iuliana Ciugulea, director of cultureTV programmes.
Each year, Dacia organizes “Sarbatoarea carierei”, a job fair aimed at recruiting applicants interested in engineering, quality, IT, commerce, law, finance, human resources and communications. Human resources are a top priority for Dacia: 16,000 people are currently employed with the company. In addition, the carmaker takes part to employment forums and fairs all over the country and presents a very generous employment offer.
