As of 1 June 2007, Dacia is the official partner of the Romanian national football team for the next 4 years. The duration of the contract covers the qualification campaigns for the 2008 European Championship in Switzerland and Austria and for the 2010 Football World Cup in South Africa. It is the greatest communication campaign in the history of Dacia so far.
Dacia asserts its attachment towards the three-coloured national team and towards the defining values of the most beloved and most popular performance sport: professionalism, the will to win, solidarity and team spirit.
François Fourmont, the general director of Dacia, declares:
‘The partnership between Dacia and the Romanian national football team is a natural association of two powerful symbols that the Romanians have always been attached to, a symbol that has been nourishing their national pride. Just like the brand Dacia, whose expansion on markets in more than 50 countries on four continents recommends it as a genuine Romanian ambassador, the national football team offers the world a very touching proof of the talent and value displayed by the Romanian sportsmen.'
In his turn, Ioan-Angelo Lupescu, General Manager of the Romanian Football Federation says:
"I find that signing this partnership contract is a logic outcome given that, first and foremost, the protagonists are two of the most important national brands. The football and the car industry are two distinct fields of activity, but, at the same time, Dacia and the national football team have a very strong bond, as both are an epitome of the Romanian tradition and of achieved performance. I am confident that, in the future, Dacia and the national football team can achieve high performance sport and managerial side by side."
Dacia is the number 1 brand in Romania, and football is the number 1 sport, as the national team gathers the enthusiasm in supporters of all ages. Both Dacia and the Romanian national football team have been passionately and enthusiastically committed in the race for quality and success.
As any genuine supporter, constantly young in spirit, Dacia, alongside all lovers of the round ball sport, wishes the Romanian team a lot of success in the qualification campaigns for the European Championship and Football World Cup.
Go Romania!
