The Assembly Plant ensures both the production of the Dacia range models (Logan sedan, Logan MCV, Logan Van, Logan Pick-Up and Dacia Sandero) and of the respective spare parts. The Assembly Plant is organized around four main departments, or shops : The Stamping Shop, the Carbody Shop, the Painting Shop, and the Assembly Shop. Once the four stages of the cycle have been completed, the cars are delivered to the commercial network.
The Stamping Shop surfaces 44,000 m². The 104 presses use 900 tons of steel sheets a day.
The painting process implies 6 different stages : 1. ST– surface treatment: cleansing, phosphating through immersion 2. Cataphorisis: electrochemical coating, through immersion 3. Puttying : applying putty to stick, insulate and protect against gravelling. 18 kg of putty are applied onto each car. 4. Applying intermediary paint: dressing (automated process) 5. Applying water-based paint and glaze (automated process) 6. Waxing: applying wax into cavities (corrosion proof). The Painting Shop totals a surface of 35,000 m². 8 Each bodyshop requires 8 kg of paint.
The assembly is the final stage of the manufacturing process, where the mechanical parts are joined (the power unit, the rear axle), the driving gear, the mirrors and the interior trimming (carpets, chairs etc). |
