In 2008, Dacia sold 257,594 cars, 11.7% more against 2007, while most of car markets worldwide dropped dramatically as a result of the financial crisis. In Romania, the decline of the automotive market was worsened by the imports of used cars, most of which are more than 10 years old. Consequently, Dacia sales in Romania totaled 84,708 units-  17% less against last year – distributed between 75,240 personal vehicles and 9,468 commercial vehicles.
