Aged 27, Gheorghe Florescu is a graduate of the Mechanics and Technology Faculty (Motor Cars Department) with the University of Pitesti. This year he got the second promotion in his career. In June, he was appointed head of the TS CATA PUTYING shop of the Painting Department. This is where the surface of the metal sheets is cleaned and prepared for the next operation: the application of a coating layer.
His story at Dacia started in 2004 in the Insulation Workstation. Insulation is a positioning of the IFF plates guarantees a soundproof cabin. He accepted this job thinking that his commitment and his serious work could lead him towards a promotion. And this is exactly what happened.
One and a half year later, he followed some training courses and shortly after, was appointed Head of Workstation. The news of his promotion somehow scared him, given his inexperience. But with the help of the operators and the Head of Shop, Gheorghita Serbana, he succeeded in creating a homogeneous group, which he turned into his professional family.
For 3 years, he managed the activity of the Crimping Workstation in the Painting Department and its 25 members. This year, he took the second important step in his career: he became Head of Shop. „ I separated from these people with a heavy heart, because I had managed to create a united team. They may be one the reasons I was promoted as Head of Shop.” Now, he is in charge with managing the activity of 5 Workstations and over 140 people. “I am well aware that this job implies a major responsibility, but, with the help of the Heads of Workstations and the operators, I hope to meet the standards.”
A Head of Shop coordinates the activity of the subordinate Workstations, with a view to meeting the objectives decided by the Department. According to Gheorghe Florescu, a Head of Shop needs university studies; he has to be a good manager, a good listener, he needs to encourage the performance and the work of his team, he has to comply with demands in his field of activity.
